  The stock market finished the week largely up notwithstanding downward pressure from the U.S. and China trade-talks as tech stocks rallied.  Interest rates rose with the 10-year treasury yield rising 5 basis points to 2.99% despite mild inflationary data.  The spread between the 10-year treasury yield and the 2-year treasury yield was virtually unchanged, widening by 1 basis point to 0.23%.  The price of gold continues to trend downward, dropping 0.23% to $1,198.90 an ounce.  The price of crude increased 1.57% to $68.96 a barrel despite reports of the global oil supply reaching a record high in August.  The…

  U.S. equities dropped as trade fears are revamped from Trump’s threats to tack on more tariffs to Chinese imports.  Interest rates jumped amid a better than expected jobs report, with the 10-year treasury yield rising 9 basis points to 2.94%.  The spread between the 10-year treasury yield and 2-year treasury yield also rose, widening by 2 basis points to 0.22%.  The price of gold was little changed, dropping only 0.38% to $1,201.70 an ounce.  The price of crude oil dropped 2.88% to $67.89 a barrel as it was pulled down by a stronger U.S. dollar.  That said, the U.S….

  Major U.S. stock indices finished the week higher with the tech heavy Nasdaq jumping over 2.00% as Amazon, Alphabet, and Apple rallied.  Interest rates were little changed with the 10-year treasury yield rising 2 basis points to 2.85%.  The spread between the 10-year treasury yield and the 2-year treasury yield remained unchanged, settling at a narrow 0.22%.  Commodity prices were mixed, with the price of gold dropping 0.43% to $1,206.30 an ounce and the price of crude oil rising 1.91% to $69.90 a barrel.  The U.S. dollar index was virtually unchanged dropping from 95.13 to 95.08.   Index Started…
